Why Root & Stalk

The shortest ingredients list in the aisle

No proprietary blends, no 47-ingredient formulas, no promises we can't keep. Just the drink you'd make yourself, minus the effort.

The ritual

Two teaspoons, cold water, stir. Ten seconds from cupboard to glass. No shopping, no juicer, no pink-stained washing up.

The shortlist

Beetroot and celery. Read the back of the pouch in four seconds. Everything in the bag is named on the front.

The receipts

Every batch independently tested in a UK laboratory, and we publish the reports. You don't have to take our word for anything.

The Blends

Pick your ratio

Same two vegetables, two characters. One leans sweet and earthy, one tastes closest to the glass that started all this.

Original
70% beetroot · 30% celery

Sweeter and rounder. The beet leads, the celery keeps it fresh. Where most people start.

Launch blend
Balanced
50% beetroot · 50% celery

Equal parts, greener and brighter. For people who already drink the fresh version and want it honest.

The naming system isn't an accident. Every blend we'll ever make is some mix of roots, stalks, leaves and seeds.

What's inside

Two ingredients, fully introduced

The entire formula, explained in plain English. This section is short because the ingredients list is.

Beetroot
The root. Deep crimson, naturally sweet and earthy. Grown, juiced and dried in Germany, then milled to a fine powder that dissolves in cold water.
Celery
The stalk. Fresh, green and savoury, made from the stalk, not the seed. The same vegetable you'd push through a juicer, without the juicer.
The colour
That crimson is betanin, the pigment beetroot makes naturally. Nothing is added to get the pink swirl; that's just what beetroot does in water.
The taste
Like the fresh-pressed juice it started as: sweet from the beet, clean from the celery. Benchmarked at home against the real thing until it passed.
No added sugar
No sweeteners
No flavourings

The Ritual

Ten seconds, start to finish

The fresh version takes twenty minutes and a juicer. This is the same destination by a much shorter road.

01

Scoop

Two teaspoons into a glass. That's a full serving, about 8g, and the pouch holds thirty of them.

02

Stir

Cold water, a quick stir, watch the crimson bloom. Works in smoothies, yoghurt and porridge too.

03

Done

Make it. Drink it. Done. The juicer stays in the cupboard and the chopping board stays clean.

The Origin

It started with her juicer

Every morning, my wife buys beetroot and celery, feeds them through a juice extractor, and hands me a glass. It's brilliant. It's also twenty minutes of shopping, chopping, juicing and cleaning, every single day.

Root & Stalk is that exact glass with the twenty minutes removed. We searched until we found the same two vegetables, properly dried and milled, then tested every sample at home against the fresh version. Her palate is our quality department, and nothing ships until it passes.

Receipt 01

UK lab tested, every batch

Independent heavy-metals and microbiology testing on each production batch, with the report published on this page. Not a badge, an actual document.

Receipt 02

The full ingredients list

It's on the front of the pouch, not hidden in 6pt type on the back. If we ever add anything, it gets named the same way.

Receipt 03

No miracle promises

We sell a drink and a ritual, not a cure. Anyone promising more from two vegetables is selling you the label, not the contents.

Questions

Asked and answered

Like fresh beetroot and celery juice: sweet and earthy from the beet, clean and green from the celery. Original (70/30) is rounder and sweeter; Balanced (50/50) is brighter and greener. If you've had the fresh-pressed version, you'll recognise it.

Two teaspoons (about 8g) stirred into a glass of cold water. It also works in smoothies, yoghurt or porridge. One pouch is around 30 servings, a month of mornings.

The recipe is beetroot and celery, and the full ingredients list is printed on the front of every pouch exactly as it appears on the back. No flavourings, no sweeteners, no added sugar.

Yes: celery is one of the 14 regulated UK allergens. If you're allergic to celery, this product isn't for you. It's clearly emphasised in the ingredients list on every pouch.

Every production batch is sent to an independent UK laboratory and tested for heavy metals and microbiology before it goes on sale. We publish the report, so "tested" is a document you can read, not a claim you have to trust.

Free UK delivery on your first order, dispatched within two working days. Monthly ritual subscriptions arrive on the same date each month and can be paused or cancelled any time.
